June 11, 2012 - Leadership Del Rio

Jun 11, 2012 by Marc Strode, CEO
Folks,
Last month, the second Leadership Del Rio class graduated, and I am both happy and proud to let you know that VVRMC had the most representation in this class!!!!  Congratulations to Mari Acosta, Veronica Cortez and Adrian Larson for representing the hospital and adding significant value to the class.

Leadership Del Rio is a group of leaders in Del Rio's business community that go through a nomination and selection process to be part of this effort.  The class--which is about 25 strong--spends the year together networking and learning from each other and learning about the many, many different facets and parts of Del Rio's economy.  They also get exposure to many different leaders in the community so they can learn about different leadership techniques for their own tool kit.

Veronica is one of our newest team members and works to support Vicky and the nursing directors in her role.  She came to us highly regarded by those that had worked with her before, most recently at both title companies downtown. We are thrilled to have her here!

Adrian has been with the hospital for a couple of years and has done just an outstanding job in moving our clinic forward.  When he started, we had 1 doctor--Dr. Lindsey.  Today we have 4, an urgent care center, 3 mid-levels, and are working to add more.  Adrian was promoted in the Fall to also add to his plate all our other outpatient clinics (vascular surgery, neurosurgery and urology) and provides leadership and support for Hospice and Heritage.  All of the areas Adrian leads are key components of our strategy to improve access, quality and service to keep more healthcare in Del Rio.

Mari is my right-hand person.  She keeps me on track and in-line.  I certainly appreciate her leadership and guidance in her role.  She has been part of VVRMC for many years and is without a doubt one of our informal leaders!

Congrats again to Veronica, Adrain and Mari.

Francine Pina was the VVRMC graduate in Leadership Del Rio's first class, and we have nominated Gayla Sattterfield to represent us in this next class about to form.

Keep the Spirit,
Marc
