June 11, 2012 - meet Del Rio's newest physician, Dr. Charles "Buz" Rigney

Folks,
There's a new doc in town, and you can call him Buz!!!!  I am pleased to introduce Dr. Rigney, who joins Amistad Medical Professionals as it's fourth employed physician tied to VVRMC.  Dr. Rigney has relocated from Scotia, California, where he recently sold his practice there in preparation for his move to Del Rio.  Buz was familiar with the area as he spent some time in San Antonio in the military earlier in his career.  He speaks Spanish and is ready to fully indoctrinate himself into Del Rio's community and culture. 

We know there is a shortage of primary care physicians in Del Rio, and Buz is a nice addition to the team.  His office is in our building across Bedell, and he will be one of the doctors who moves into the new office building once it is constructed.

I believe Dr. Rigney plans on using the hospitalists for his patients that are admitted to the hospital.  So you might now see him in the building every day, but the clinic staff has already gotten to know him very well.  When you meet him, please make him feel right at home at VVRMC.  He has the trademark short-sleeve white buttoned shirt w/ tie....a la Dr. Lindsey....just without the mustache!!!!

He's a no-frills kind of guy....my kind of guy.  I can say this w/ conviction because like I did last summer, he's holed up in the Western Motel just up the road.  So on one of these hot summer evenings as your drive by the motel on Veterans, give a look over....you might see Buz and me out grillin' and come by and say hi!!!

Buz's wife Kay is an artist and plans on joining him in Del Rio after they tie up loose ends in California.
