Blog Blitz - Part 3 of 6

Feb 16, 2012 by Marc Strode, CEO
Folks,
Been reading the news lately?  How about we suggest to the Herald a Health Section of the news paper, or maybe just a VVRMC update section.  We have been blessed with great media coverage over the past week.  Most recently, yesterday we stole the headline with the news of the proposed medical office building that we talked about at the town hall meetings last week.  On Saturday, we made the front page based on our support of Heart Awareness Month and the fact that so many of us wore red earlier in the month in support of the cause.  But probably the most notable headline unfortunately centered around very bad news involving a traffic accident last Friday.  But you try to find the good in every story, and if you read into the article on this one you saw that Dr. Teo Sanchez, one of our very capable ED physicians, came up on this accident and was able to help.  In fact, he went so far as to get in the ambulance and continue delivering care to the patient all the way to the ER.  I am impressed by this, and as I've gotten to know Dr. Sanchez I am not surprised at all at his heroic effort.

Anyhow, I wanted to bring light to this and remind you to keep an eye out for good news.  It seems to be in a lot of places as of late, and we'll continue to work hard to keep that theme going.

Keep the Spirit,
Marc
