Folks,
We are in the midst of a mock Joint Commission survey today and tomorrow.  We are grateful for the experts from Methodist who have taken time out of their busy schedule to come here and perform tracers and get us ready for the real thing, which will probably be in a few months.  So, when you see these guys on the unit, don't run and hide!  As many of you know, the surveyors, both these from Methodist and the real ones, care less to talk to Vicky or me as they do to talk to our front line staff.  So, if you get pulled aside, stay cool and just be honest.  They want to see that what we have on paper in policy is really what we practice and that it ties to a good standard of practice and supports evidenced-based medicine.  We will share with you very soon how this mock survey went and will quickly develop action plans to shore up what we need to between now and the real thing.
