November 6, 2012 - Sid For President!
Nov 06, 2012
by
Marc Strode, CEO
Folks,
It's election day, and if you haven't already I do hope you find time this afternoon to go out and vote. I was having this discussion while rounding a few weeks ago during the night shift about the importance of voting. Here's my thought on the matter. It's the right thing to do--regardless of your political affiliation (or write-in....I choose Sid!)--if for nothing else men and women as recently as yesterday died for our freedom to do so. That's all I'll say about that.
Super great to have Sid back in the building. I'm about to go introduce him for the afternoon session. Last one was standing room only. You can catch him tomorrow either at 8:00, 10:30 or 2:30. This is manditory service training so make sure you catch one of those if you haven't already. Sid is focusing this round on our sustainability regarding progress we have made in regards to patient experience. He is working off real-life VVRMC scenarios and getting the crowd involved in how best to make the best of all of those situations we find ourselves in every day. I hope you enjoy the training and are able to take things back to your department that will work well for you.
Our patient satisfaction scores were up for October in our bedded units. Our feedback through our discharge phone calls both in Day Surgery as well as hospital-wide w/ the calls Hatalie is making are outstanding. Of the 40 or so calls she makes every day, we I bet average 37 or 38 very positive. The one-offs we follow-up on quickly. ED for October had another strong month, and it represents since I have been part of the team the first time the team has strung together two really positive months, according to Press-Gainey survey data. Thank you!
Keep the focus and keep the spirit,
Marc
