November 2, 2012 - guest chefs and a sea of orange

Nov 02, 2012 by Marc Strode, CEO
Folks,
If you walk past the Verde Cafe expecting the "same old, same old" I've got news for you.  Jed has been getting creative, and he's got some helpers back in the kitchen.  We are two-deep into a new "Guest Chef" series where we are encouraging team members to bring in their recipes and join in the fun of cooking their favorite dish.  Francine did outstanding today w/ this chix pasta dish that's so spicy I'm sweating as I type and chew!  But delicious!  We're gonna work to get the word out when we have the special menus so you can come enjoy.  And anyone who wants to cook is welcome and just needs to arrange w/ Jed in the kitchen so we can coordinate ingredients and logistics!

OK.  All I have to say about the orange VVRMC shirts is that they look darn sharp, but folks--orange was a color well before some school in austin adopted it as their own.  How selfish of them!  I can assure you I see a maroon shirt or something coming in the spring!  For those that donated to the United Way, a big THANK YOU!  $18,000 out of your pockets to help our community.  Way to go!  Enjoy the shirts.  You look marvelous, even if they are orange!  Go Tech!

Have a great weekend and keep the spirit,
Marc
