June 1, 2012 - Mosquitoes

Jun 01, 2012 by Marc Strode, CEO
Folks,
I wanted everyone to know that your management team is well aware of the mosquito problem in Del Rio right now and how it is impacting our hospital.  All of the ones that are not camped out in my back yard are apparently finding their way to the hospital.

In all seriousness, I too am frustrated by these pests and share your concern about them taking up occupancy with us.  I have asked plant operations to do whatever is necessary to try and stay one step ahead of them and minimize the impact bugs inside our hospital have on us as well as our patients.

Please, if you are reading this and are at the bedside this weekend, do not let patients open up windows.  This only compounds our problem.  I was in registration this afternoon and standing at that window looking out at Bedell Ave there must have been 100 mosquitoes wanting in on the outside glass.  This is the case at every window on the building I suspect.  If a patient is hot, please request a box fan. If we are out of fans, we can get someone up to WalMart if necessary to make patients comfortable and grab a couple of extra fans.

Have a great weekend.

Keep the Spirit,
Marc
