Folks,
Shannon Clinic out of San Angelo, who has been a vital part of the Del Rio healthcare community for 14 years and operates Vista Verde Medical Center, yesterday announced to its providers and employees its intention to exit the market effective January 1, 2013. 

The Shannon physicians include Drs. Gomez, Oviedo, O'Brien, Manning and Salama.  They also have 3 mid-level providers.  These guys are not only major pilars in the city and county's medical community, but also vitally important to Val Verde Regional Medical Center.

VVRMC has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to negotiate with Shannon Clinic and explore opportunities to bring providers and Vista Verde Medical Center team under the Amistad Medical Professionals umbrella and thus keep this important community resource in tact. 

We are not sure at this point what any of this may look like, but have already begun our due diligence to explore all of the different opportunities. 

We will keep you closely posted as aspects of this venture develop over the coming weeks and months.
