Blog Blitz - Part 4 of 6

Folks,
A big part of who we are is what we do for and in the community before the community needs us.  It is a developing theme and strategy that helps people get to know us and realize we are real good to have around, not only in time of need but also in times of giving. 

This is by far, relatively speaking, the most giving team I have worked with in regards to their volunteer time and sharing some of your hard-earned money back with those less fortunate or those who really need it. 

I have just been made aware that we have been recognized by the American Cancer Society as on of their "Top 10 Fundraising Teams in the Region" for 2011-12.  They will be here in March to formally recognize us--and I suspect we will end up back in the paper!!!!) for our combined donations totalling $11,000. 

A special thanks to everyone who donated, and big kudos to our Community Activity Team (CAT) which includes Gloria Ziegler, Kiki Luna, Cookie Gulick, Jeanette Gallegos, Ninfa Price, Marina Reyes, Mona Vick, Francine Pina, Robert Carillo, Olga Gomez, Annette Welch, Margie Andrade, Michael Romero, Olivia Castro, Eva Prado, Irma Santellanes, Carmen Trevino, Nena De La Cerda, Rosie Castro and Maria Lujan.  They head up our fundraising efforts and did an exceptional job rallying support and staying creative in how we can try and keep passing those goals to help the cause.

Relay for Life is right around the corner, and this is another big one VVRMC is involved with again this year.  Please help me support the CAT team as they get geared up for several activities to help raise money for the cause!!
